Robotron: 2084 (1982) is a classic dual-stick shooter wherein a lone hero protects the final human family against relentless waves of robots. The horizontally-moving joypad is the one you fire with, vertically. You rescue humans, avoid bullets, and collect power-ups. Enemies spawned at high speeds and deformed humans challenge reflexes and tactics.

The upright model has specially coloured side art of neon-trimmed robots marching towards a lone figure along a grid. Its sloped control panel has dual ball-top joysticks, movement and fire, below a lettered "ROBOTRON 2084" marquee. A perforated steel grille conceals a mono speaker that throbs the game's instantly recognizable electronic music score.
